Considerations related to urban landscape planning should be: 1) determine the level of daily and weekly management the gardener is interested in paying for or providing through their own work, 2) determine the type of landscape such as xeroscape, heavy annual plantings, mostly perennials, mixes, etc...., 3) select the plant species following the soil testing interpretation and environment considerations, and 4) develop the irrigation and fertility plan.
